How Locality Works
Visibility and Insight You Need
Locality provides visibility into cellular deployments with a coordinated set of maps and reports. By placing a small agent on your mobile devices that collects performance and location information, Locality gives you the ability to see what your mobile field workers are actually experiencing.
Locality allows you to:
-
Quickly identify and pinpoint the causes of chronic connectivity problems
-
Maintain a current and accurate list of each cellular network adapter, who it's assigned to, and how much it's used
-
Ensure your mobile field workers have access to the best coverage and the fastest network technologies
-
Easily identify and redeploy or disconnect under-utilized devices
Network Coverage & Device Maps
Locality’s Coverage and Device Maps allow you to track where poor signal strength, older and slower technologies, and dropped connections may be having an impact on mobile worker productivity. You can document these network performance issues by exporting maps to PNG files and by exporting map information to KML files, which can be used in other location-based applications.

Locality's Network Coverage Maps provide a detailed view of signal strength by carrier, device and technology.
Comprehensive Reporting Suite
Locality offers a suite of reports that provide detailed information about devices, network performance, and usage. Locality allows you to filter the data, create custom views, and export information to Microsoft Excel.
Some of these dynamic reports include:
-
Technology Availability and Trends Reports – See data usage and trends by network technology generation, such as 2G or 3G
-
Network Usage Reports – Analyze data usage by users, carriers, and applications
-
Dropped Connection Reports - Provides dropped connection statistics by severity, signal strength, and adapter configuration
-
Inventory Reports – A comprehensive list of network adapters correlated to device, user, phone number, carrier, manufacturer, model, firmware revision, IMEI, ESN, and MEI

The Dropped Connections report shows trends in network disconnections by hardware, user, and signal strength.
Integration with Mobility XE
More Power for More Informed Decisions
Locality works with any VPN, but it is even more valuable when combined with NetMotion Wireless mobile VPN software, Mobility XE.
Enhanced Analytics Capabilities
When combined with the Mobility XE Analytics module, Locality provides usage information by application name, so you can identify the applications that are consuming the most bandwidth.
When using Locality with Mobility XE, your analytics become much more powerful, and you can view trends in application usage by user and device to make more informed decisions
