Territory Account Executive - South East

 

The Opportunity

The Territory Account Executive (TAE) for the South East is a newly created position providing an opportunity for a highly motivated sales professional to have a direct impact on the bottom line of our growing software company.  The focus of the TAE will be to build out the state and local government businesses.  You will be part of a tight-knit and nimble territory team, consisting of a Territory Sales Manager (TSM), TAE, Systems Engineer and Inside Account Executive.  Each territory team in our company functions almost like their own entrepreneurial business.

This position is a remote role, requiring a home office and prior experience working as a remote employee.  It can be located in a major metropolitan area in the South East including Atlanta, Raleigh-Durham, Tampa, Miami, etc. 

 

Your Role as a Key Contributor

The TAE will report directly to a Territory Sales Manager (TSM), partnering with them to drive sales strategy and deals for the region.  The TAE will be responsible for identifying additional sales opportunities with state and local governments, qualifying and closing opportunities from both existing and new customers. 

 

In this role you will also have the opportunity of working with existing NetMotion channel partners, building relationships and networking to increase the sales pipeline.  

 

Types of Ongoing Projects and Responsibilities

  • Along with the territory team, drive revenue generation and market share growth of NetMotion’s products for the 10 state South East Territory.
  • Through in person and phone communications, effectively prospect, identify and drive a large number of sales opportunities through the qualification process and to closure.
  • Manage complex sales cycles with state and local government markets.
  • Communicate with and sell to networking, security and business line managers within medium to large government organizations.
  • Leverage NetMotion’s existing local distribution relationships in order to maximize revenue generation, including building awareness of NetMotion’s value proposition within partner organizations and assisting those partners on customer sales calls and in closing business.
  • Attend events and present on behalf of NetMotion. 
  • Actively participate as a member of the NetMotion team by sharing knowledge and committing to the achievement of common business objectivesQualifications

Qualifications

In order to come up to speed quickly in this position it is imperative that you have three or more years of business to business (B2B) sales experience within the software or telecommunications industry.  You must be passionate about selling a technology product and be able to communicate the value proposition of a networking software product to audiences of varying levels of technical understanding.

 

Due to the complex nature of our software, you must have a basic understanding of wireless products, networking and security.  It is preferable that you’ve had experience selling these types of wireless products previously to state and local governmental organization.  It would also be desirable for you to have had experience working with the B2B sales organizations of large, public wireless carriers. 

 

You can be successful in this position if you are self-directed and have had experience working out of a home office as a remote employee previously.  You will have achieved an undergraduate degree (and ideally have your MBA).  Your outstanding communication, planning and organizational skills will help you to juggle the many deals that are going at one time in our pipeline.  To continue to push forward our growth you will be able to travel 50% or more.

 

Physical Requirements

This position requires the manual dexterity sufficient to operate phones, computers, and other office equipment.  The person in the role must communicate clearly using the English language to accurately convey information and be able to hear at normal speaking levels both in person and over the telephone.  Vision correctable to 20/40 is required to review written materials.  Virtual office is set up by employee.  50+% travel utilizing air flights and trains, as well as the ability to operate a vehicle.  Visits to customer locations generally situated in offices and providing good working conditions with little or no exposure to extremes in noises or temperatures.  There are little or no safety or health hazards.  Minimal lifting or climbing.  Work is performed in an office setting.
