NetMotion Wireless Accelerates Customer Acquisition in Fourth Quarter
Additional growth and new research results indicate strong demand for reliable wireless access to CRM, ERP and other traditionally wired enterprise applications
Seattle—February 4, 2004—NetMotion Wireless Inc., the market leader in mobility management software, announced continuing growth today with the addition of 86 new customers during the quarter ending December 31, 2003—a nearly 45 percent increase in the company's customer base over the previous quarter. More than 285 leading organizations now use NetMotion Mobility™ to solve critical problems of connection reliability, data access and management when deploying wireless technology.
"We're thrilled by such dramatic customer growth,"said Steve Cullen, CEO of NetMotion Wireless. "But what's even more exciting is the number of new enterprise customers coming to us to enable their CRM, ERP and other mission-critical enterprise applications to work reliably and securely in a wide area mobile computing environment."
According to Cullen, enterprise customers have typically been more cautious in their deployment of wireless technology than healthcare and public safety organizations, both of which have been major adopters of mobile computing solutions for several years. However, NetMotion Wireless is seeing strong indications that this historical caution is rapidly giving way to concrete plans for larger scale, enterprise mobile computing deployments.
"We're beginning to reap the rewards of several key developments in the market," said Cullen, "including faster wide area networks, stronger enterprise sales efforts from wireless carriers, multi-network enterprise implementations and improving economic conditions that are enabling IT managers to invest in projects that have perhaps been on 'hold' for a while."
Evidence of a significant upward swing in near-term enterprise adoption of wide area wireless data technologies can be seen in primary research fielded by NetMotion Wireless. In a recent survey of enterprise IT managers, nearly 40 percent indicated a strong intention to provide wide area wireless access to their employees within the next 12 months. Survey participants were drawn from a number of industries, representing organizations with a minimum of 50 field workers.
More complete research results will be announced later this month.
