NetMotion Wireless Sees Rapid Adoption in Utilities Industry
Adds 18 customers for industry-leading Mobile VPN, including Atlanta Gas & Light, Jacksonville Electric Authority and Puget Sound Energy
Seattle, WA—April 27, 2006—NetMotion Wireless, the industry leader among Mobile VPN solution providers, announced that it now has 18 major utilities among its roster of enterprise customers. The new customers include electric, natural gas, water and sewer utilities with deployments as large as 4,000 mobile devices.
"It is crucial for every utility to ensure its field workers are provided with secure, uninterrupted access to critical applications while traveling through the different wireless networks that may exist in its coverage area," said Gene Signorini, vice president at Yankee Group. "NetMotion Wireless not only makes it possible for field workers to do their jobs, but also for utilities organizations to provide their customers with the level of service they deserve."
New customers include industry leaders such as Arizona Public Service, Atlanta Gas & Light, Con Edison, Dominion Resources, Jacksonville Electric Authority, Kansas City Power & Light, Pentair Water, Philadelphia Gas Works, Puget Sound Energy, Sacramento Water and Sewer District, Terasen Gas, Truckee Meadows Water and Western Gas Resources.
"We nearly doubled NetMotion's revenue and seat count over the past year," said Andy Willett, SVP of sales for NetMotion Wireless. "Our success with utilities customers has been a big part of that growth and this is just one of the markets from which we expect continued success throughout 2006."
