Title: Avoiding conflicts between the Sierra Wireless Watcher utility and TotalRoam |
Summary:
Sierra Wireless Watcher cannot function at the same time as the TotalRoam.
Symptoms:
TotalRoam will remain in a disconnected state if started after Watcher or Watcher will not establish a connection with the modem if TotalRoam is running first.
Resolution:
If it is necessary to run the Watcher utility, TotalRoam must be stopped first. Conversely, Watcher must be exited prior to running TotalRoam.
Watcher is configured by default to start automatically upon detection of the modem. This can prevent TotalRoam from establishing a connection with the modem. Therefore, this configuration option should be disabled as follows:
- Start Watcher
- Click on Tools then Options
- Uncheck "Auto-Launch on Card Detect"
Applies To:
- The following Sierra Wireless modems
- Aircard 5XX series of modems
- Aircard 7XX series of modems
- SB line of modems
- MP line of modems
When used by TotalRoam in an optimized network adapter or a Universal DUN network adapter in automatic connection mode.
Applies To:
