Title: Changing the way the TotalRoam service is installed |
| |
|
Summary
This describes the commands to change the configuration of
the TotalRoam service.
Details
The service for TotalRoam can be installed in two different
ways or TotalRoam can be run without a service and started
manually from the console. The two ways the service can be
installed is as a normal service which will start up with
all of the other windows services or it can be installed to
start before the log in prompt. If the service has been installed
in a way that does not benefit the user it can be changed
without an uninstall and reinstall of the TotalRoam software.
Here is a description of how to go about this procedure.
1. Start a windows command prompt.
2. Change the directory to the TotalRoam install directory. (usually:
C:\Program Files\PADCOM\TotalRoam)
3. The file the TotalRoam service uses is "TRServc.exe".
There are several command line arguments which can make the
changes.
-u = Uninstall, This should be used if you want to run TotalRoam
manually or if you want to change the way the service is
run this should be used before that procedure is done.
-i = Install to local system. This should be used when you
want to install TotalRoam as a service but not have
it start up before the domain.
-ia = Install to specific User Name and optional Password
(trservc -ia <User Name> <Password>) This is
for the with domain authentication.
