DUN (Dial-Up Networking) entries used by TotalRoam on Microsoft® Windows® 2000 and Microsoft® Windows® XP must be configured for use by all users.
Details:
When creating a Microsoft® Windows® DUN connection it is important to make sure this connection is created for use by all users. If the connection is not configured for use by all users, TotalRoam will not be able to use this connection. The steps for creating a Microsoft® Windows® DUN connection for use by TotalRoam are given below:
Microsoft® Windows® XP
To start the network connection wizard go to Start, Settings, and double-click on Network Connections. Look for the Create a New Connection icon.
Step through the install steps for a DUN connection:
- Connection Wizard
- Check - Connect to the Internet
- Check - Set up my connection manually
- Check - Connect using a dial-up modem
- Internet Account Info
- ISP Name – Enter Name for connection
- Phone Number – Enter Phone Number
- Connection Availability – Check “Anyone’s Use”
- User name and Password – Enter User name and Password
- Completing the new connection
- Make sure “Share this connection with all users of this computer.” Shows up.
Microsoft® Windows® 2000
To start the network connection wizard go to Start, Settings, and double-click on Network Connections. Look for the Create a New Connection icon.
Step through the install steps for a DUN connection:
- Connection Wizard
- Check – Dial up to Private Network
- Internet Account Info
- Phone Number – Enter Phone Number
- Connection Availability – Check “For All Users”
- User name and Password – Enter User name and Password
- Completing the new connection
- Finish
